Porto Corallo, a long beach interrupted only by the mouth of the Flumendosa
In Sarrabus, the region south-east of Sardinia, in an area where the mountains give way to the plane of the mouth of the river Flumendosa, the village of Villaputzu borders Muravera, San Vito, Tertenia, and Perdasdefogu.
The area of Salto di Quirra alternates plains to hills up to 1000 m., and is particularly rich in water.
The sea side of the plateau offers stunning beaches and abundant fishing.
Porto Corallo with its homonymous tower, its beach, its port, its camping site and its tourist facilities is the seaside area of Villaputzu, an important agricultural centre at the mouth of the Flumendosa and not far from the coast.

Beside the many beaches of Costa Rei and Muravera (about 30 km.) from Villaputzu you can easily reach the beaches Foce of Flumendosa, Murtas and Porto Corallo
Villaputzu and 10 km. Muravera: a long sand beach interrupted only by the mouth of Flumendosa, and many rock coves where you could find fragments of coral.
On the hill overlooking the marina (used to ship the argentiferous material of Monte Narba) there is the Puerto Coral Tower, built by the Spanish before 1599.
The area is experiencing a recent tourist development: village, camping and marina.
